Overview

This document will cover the steps to accessing the Savance Enterprise cloud via the Web or Desktop Client and the benefits of using one over the other.

Creating a User

Before you can begin, a username and temporary password must be created within the application and initially will be provided by your administrator, and or your Implementation Specialist.

To create a username and temporary password login into the Savance Application and go to the Admin > Administration and on the Users tab select “New”.

When creating a username and temporary password there are restrictions you need to be aware of. Below is a list of restrictions and guidelines when creating username and passwords:

Username restrictions:

● Can include

○ A – Z

○ a - z

○ 0 – 9

● Length

○ The minimum recommended length is 5 characters

○ The maximum length is 64 characters

Password Restrictions:

● Can include

○ A – Z

○ a - z

○ 0 – 9

○ @ # $ % ^ & * - _ ! + = [ ] { } | \ : ' , . ? / ` ~ " ( ) ;

○ blank space

● A minimum of 8 characters and a maximum of 256 characters.

● Requires three out of four of the following:

○ Lowercase characters.

○ Uppercase characters.

○ Numbers (0-9).

○ One or more characters: @ # $ % ^ & * - _ ! + = [ ] { } | \ : ' , . ? / ` ~ " ( ) ;

Please Note: The expiry date is 90 days. The user will be prompted again for a new password after the expiry date comes. The last password can NOT be used again when prompted to change the password.

● After 10 unsuccessful sign-in attempts with the wrong password, the user is locked out for one minute. More incorrect sign-in attempts lock for increasing durations of time.

Desktop Client

The benefits of using the desktop client to access your Savance Enterprise application are the following:

● Multi-Monitor Support

● Better Clipboard Support

● Username and Password are saved during the duration of your session

To access the desktop client please download the following Microsoft application:

● Windows

● Mac

Download

Once on the Microsoft App Store, select the Get option located in the top right corner. The Download will begin.

After the installation, Windows Application can be opened, once opened you’ll be prompted with a Let’s Get Started screen.

Select ‘Subscribe’. The user will be prompted to log in, using their username and temporary password.

Once you’ve entered your username (emailaddress@savanceenterprise.com is the username) and temporary password you will be prompted to create a new password. See below for Password Restrictions:

Once your password has been updated you will be prompted for Multi-Factor Authentication.

Multi-Factor Authentication

When the user logs in for the first time to the remote client, it will ask the user to set up multi-factor authentication. Using the Microsoft Mobile Authenticator Mobile App

If you decide to use the mobile application to authenticate your account. Download the app using your IOS, or Android Device by searching for Microsoft Authenticator in the app store. Once you’ve downloaded and launched the app.

While you have the App opened, make sure you have the Desktop client ‘Additional Security Verification’ page opened.

From the app Select ‘Add account’ from the Customize and control icon in the upper-right and then select Work or school account.

Using your device's camera to scan the QR code from the Configure mobile app screen on your computer, and then choose ‘Next’.

Return to your computer and on the ‘Additional Security Verification’ page, make sure you get the message that says your configuration was successful, and then select ‘Next’.

If you are unable to scan the code you can select ‘Configure app without notifications’ from the Configure Mobile App screen

You will be given an Account Name, and a unique secret key underneath the barcode on this page to enter into your App.

Return to your computer and on the ‘Additional Security Verification’ page, make sure you get the message that says your configuration was successful, and then select ‘Next’.

Once completed, the Desktop Client will launch with your icon.

Double-click on the icon to enter your credentials, and select ‘Remember Me’

After you successfully log in the Savance Enterprise application will launch. You can then pin a shortcut on your desktop to log in to Savance directly.

Web Client

While there are some benefits to using your web browser to access your Savance Enterprise application, there will be limitations. Refer to the Desktop Client benefits in the above section for more details.

To access the Web Client use the following link: Web client

This link can be bookmarked on your browser.

Once you’ve opened the web client, there will be a login page

For the first time, you will need to add an account.

Next, you will enter your username (emailaddress@savanceenterprise.com is the username) and password.

Once you’ve signed in will be prompted to enter a One-Time Password Code from the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone. To get this passcode, open the App and click on your account information and the passcode will appear. Please Note this passcode changes about every 30 seconds.

Enter the Code and select ‘Verify’

Once verified the application the icon for the application will appear on the web page.

Select the Icon, and Enter your login credentials, and now the application will be opened via the web browser.
